Striving To Do The Right Thing
The nation is facing challenging times and at Border Biscuits we are taking the current Covid-19 outbreak extremely seriously. We are doing all that we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues while continuing to follow the government advice that food production should continue. This is to ensure the nation maintains access to food during these difficult times.
The health and safety of our colleagues remains a primary concern for Border Biscuits and, as such, we have implemented considerable controls to ensure all our workforce can consistently practice safe social distancing whilst complying with our other Health and Safety requirements. Additionally, as we continue to operate based on Scottish government advice, those who can work from home are now doing so.
Aside from adjusting the safety measures within our factory, Border Community Support has been working hard by donating products to key workers within our local area. The most recent being a donation of 3,000 biscuits to Wishaw General Hospital. These biscuits were shared among staff and vulnerable patients who have been discharged but may not able to get out to the shops. The Border Community Support team will be continuing with further donations over the coming weeks.
This is a fast-moving issue and we are staying up to date with government advice and adjusting accordingly. We would like to thank all of our employees for their dedication and continued hard-work in this difficult time.
